Neurodivergent Woman-Owned, Compassion-Focused

Hi I’m Amy, a licensed electrologist in the Reno/Sparks area of Northern Nevada, and owner of Neurospice Beauty!

Amy enjoys a cup of coffee with her expressive cat in a window nook overlooking the backyard.

After seven years working as a software engineer, I left my tech career in 2024 to pursue the practice of electrolysis! This isn’t my first career change, either; I believe it’s healthy to move on to new paths when one is no longer satisfying us. Speaking of, I find hair removal SO satisfying!

I am licensed to practice electrolysis in both Nevada and California.

My goals for my electrology practice are:

  • To provide the most compassionate hair removal services possible, including compassion for animals by choosing only cruelty-free products and non-animal based furnishings. I have been a vegetarian for many years, and furnish my home in the same way.
  • To create a space that is accommodating to sensory preferences so that you can feel as comfortable as possible. Don’t be shy – bring your headphones, something to read, watch, etc. I won’t be offended!
  • To create a hair removal space that is welcoming and judgment-free, including neurodivergent and LGBTQ customers, and customers with hair/skin conditions.
  • To make the booking process easy and introvert-friendly, including offering online booking and email communication (relieving phone call dread), quiet appointment options for social anxiety, etc. I know all appointments are a source of anxiety for me, and I want to try to reduce that.
  • To stay up to date and involved in the community of electrology.

My special interests include:

  • Cats – I have three sweet girls!
  • Neurodivergence – especially late-diagnosed in women
  • Reality TV
  • Music theory – another previous career of mine
